Climate

Raebareli district lies in subtropical belt of India and thus faces extreme weather in winters and summers. The winters are dry and cold with temperature varying from 12 degree Celsius to 3-4 degree Celsius. The summers are extremely hot with hot winds blowing in the month of May and June. The temperature during summers shoots as high as 42 degree Celsius. Rainfall in Raebareli is though moderate to a height of 1200mm.

Raebareli is known for its architectural creations. The very famous fort built in 14 th century portrays superior form of art and architecture that prevailed in this region. The mosques and the tomb of Nawab Jahan Khan exemplify the masterpieces of Muslim art. Many tourists visit to see these monuments every year at Raebareli.

Festivals and Attiers

Raebareli houses a mixed population of Hindus and Muslims. All major festivals like Holi, Diwali, Dussehra, Eid and Ramzhan are celebrated with equal spirits here.Many contemporary dress styles and Indo-western attires are popular in Raebareli these days. But the traditional wear remains the same. Saree is the traditional dress for women whereas Dhoti Kurta finds a commonplace amongst men.

The city has excelled in the field of learning and today it is one of the best places for pursuance of education since it comprises some of the best educational institutions of the country. A notable figure from the field of education and associated with Raebareli is Dr V.P. Singh, who was the principal of Feroze Gandhi College and who was known across the country for his immense research and contribution in the field of Physiology and Ecology.

DANCE

The traditional dance form popular here is the kathak dance in sync with musical songs like ghazals, thumri, khayal and others. This can be treated as a positive initiative to retain the traditional culture and inherited love for art and music of the natives.

Language

The language of Raebareli also throws light on the culture of the district. The natives in Raebareli use mainly two languages for communication, Hindi and Awadhi. Though Hindi is the official language of the district many people prefer to use the traditional Awadhi vernacular.
